My Trip to the Sharp Farm
November 6th, 2013 I went to a place called the Sharp Farm. I learned about Pilgrims and History.
First we went to a classroom and met a man named Bill. Bill had a good sense of humor.
He told us that everyone in the room will be participating in his class (including the adults). We all sat down on a bench. Bill got two volunteers. The girl was Olli and the boy, Joe. They dressed up in pilgrim hats. Bill said that a woman in the pilgrims has to have lots of endurance, a man has to have incredible strength. We learned about these plants called the three sisters. The three sisters are Corn, Bean, and Squash/Pumpkin. We also learned that half of the pilgrims died in one year. They had a really bad diet. Corn Mush all day. We learned that in the second class. Their ship was called the mayflower. Afterwards we went outside, and we played some games. In one game, their was a group of kids called the cats. The kids that were not cats had to run from hay bale to hay bale, without getting caught by a cat. You would become a cat if you got caught. I loved that game, but I became a cat on the FIRST round! Afterwards we learned about Indians/Native Americans. They died because the pilgrims brought plague to them. Afterwards we went for a hay ride! It was pretty awesome. Then I went to the corn maze. A little girl got lost from her mom. She cried afterwards. Then I hung out with the goats a little. Afterwards we went home. I had a great time in the Sharp Farm. My favorite part was the goats and learning about native Americans. I would like to go back there again some time sooner or later.
