"I've heard that Avalon is the name of the place unicorns come from." Bridget defended. "You believe in unicorns? What are you? Five?" Claire said. A girl and two others walked past Claire, wearing shirts that had unicorns on them. "Whatever." Claire said, walking away. Scarlett and Bridget high-fived. "Thanks guys." Avalon said. "No problem!" Said Bridget.
Later, after school.
As Scarlett walked through the mall, she got a text from Julie, asking if she wanted to go the beach.
<Sure, I'd love to go to the beach with you> Scarlett replied. <OK, meet u there> Julie replied. That was strange. Julie never went near water. Something about, well, Julie never liked to talk about it. At the beach, Scarlett walked up to Julie. "Hey Julie!" She said. "What's up?" Julie said. "Hey, I've got a question. How come you never touch water?" Scarlett asked. "No reason." Julie replied. "In that case, lets swim!" Scarlett said running to the water. She heard Julie mumble something. Then, the strangest thing ever happened. Scarlett's leg felt like stone. She couldn't separate them, and they were stuck together. Her feet were stretchy, and her legs were scaly. She quickly tried to swim to surface, and then everything stopped.
