~What was that? ~ Scarlett thought. "Everything OK?" Julie asked. "Yea, everything's fine." Scarlett said. That night, Scarlett headed out to the beach on her own. As she dived into the water, her legs became a long, beautiful, red mermaid tail. She smiled, as she swam. It was so amazing how she was very fast when swimming, and she could hold her breath for really long periods of time. As she swam, she saw dolphins, sharks, sea turtles, and many more amazing creatures. Then she came to the middle of the ocean, and swam down, and down, and down. You'll never believe what she saw. She saw Juliette, with the same tail, but it was aqua blue. She had a small leather sling bag around her body, and she was collecting many shells. Scarlett swam down to Julie, smiling and waving. Juliette smiled and waved in reply. They swam happily away, needing to hide their secret. And that's the story of a mermaid!
